Circle of fifths
The Circle Of Fifths is your compass in music. It literally tells you where to go and how to get there. Its mastery gives quick understandable movement through music and should be memorized to empower you to greater understanding. Memorization is as easy as saying the words "BEAD, Gum, Candy, Food." B, E, A, D, G, C, F is your sharp side and Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Cb, Fb is your flat side. Because Cb is also B and Fb is also a E we just use B and E to avoid confusion, so memorizing up to Gb is perfectly fine. C is the key of no flats and no sharps. G is the key of one sharp. F is the key of one flat. Each note as you count away from the key of C adds one more sharp or flat in that key. Gb, also known as F#, is the key of 6 flats and if you are counting from the sharp side F# is the key of 6 sharps.

Chromatic Scale
If your circle of fifths is your compass in music, the chromatic scale is your map. You must use both to find your way accurately through the twists and turns in music. The chromatic scale has 12 separate steps. A, Bb, B, C, Db, D, Eb, E, F, Gb, G and Ab. Chromatic scale like the circle of fifths must also be memorized. Memorization of the scale creates accurate movement to each next note correctly. If you dont know where you are on a map you will get lost. Same is true in music, Memorization of the scale constantly promotes awareness in music. Awareness also allow you to know where to modulate to. modulation is the sharpening or flattening of chords. Sharp means to move up the scale, and flat means to move down the scale. Sharper you move the higher your note will be, the flatter you move the lower your note will become. Chords that use all four strings can be flattened or sharpened to the next note on the scale. So if i am holding all four strings and playing the chord of C major I can flatten one step the same chord form and change the note to a B or sharpen and change the note to a Db.
Chromatic scale on a ukulele looks like this.
